Need a Wedding Officiant? One of the greatest joys of my life is serving as an ordained wedding officiant. (At left: Paul Whitehill and Susana Guzman in Monterey, Calif.). I was ordained in 2002 through the Universal Life Church, and I have performed weddings and blessing ceremonies in Washington, California, New Mexico, Florida and Missouri.
I approach each wedding or other event as an opportunity for the individuals (and couples) involved to express themselves fully, spiritually and creatively. Through my custom-made questionnaire, I allow partici-pants to explore the depths of their relationship and express their desires individually and collectively through ceremony. I am a Buddhist by choice, but my ceremonies are focused entirely on YOUR spiritual preferences, created collaboratively so they best reflect your beliefs and tastes. As an added bonus, I create an original epithalamion (blessing poem for bride and groom) for each occasion. Please contact me to find out how I can help make your wedding, renewal of vows, housewarming, site blessing, divorce, funeral or other event a truly blessed event. Spring, again Famine in Yemen, gunmen in New Zealand, catastrophic flooding across the Great Plains.Spring is a promise, not a guarantee. The planet shifts on its axis, a wobbling top, and every day we must learn to stand and walk again, watching for falling planes overhead, the first green shoots of crocus underfoot. |
Testimonials"We were so fortunate to have Wayne officiate our wedding. Not only did he radiate warmth and smiles, but he created a beautiful backdrop of words. He managed to make us feel at ease while taking a humorous yet spiritual take on our relationship. We thoroughly appreciate the ceremony he put together for us. Cheers!"
--Susana Guzman, Monterey, Calif., 2006 "Thanks so much for making our wedding so incrediby special! Your poem was a hit and made the ceremony the most memorable." --Viviana Guzman, Half Moon Bay, Calif., 2012 "As we celebrated our first wedding anniversary, we reflected back upon our wedding ceremony with a plethora of joyful memories. Rev. Lee’s thoughtful suggestions and calm guidance was offered with such ease and grace; his gentle kindness and unique dignity was a welcomed gift during the entire event. And the poem Rev. Lee wrote for our wedding moved us profoundly--our loved ones still tell us it was the most beautiful wedding they've ever attended.” --David and Marcella Korb, Santa Fe, NM, 2011 A Sonnet for Mr. and Mrs. Bunney
(for their Wedding Day, Sept. 9, 2007) We’re here today to celebrate true love, not naïve adolescent fantasy sent like some lightning bolt from high above, igniting mere flashes of ecstasy. We’re here to celebrate maturity, the kind of love with both feet on the ground, both hearts beating in quiet harmony, both souls grateful for the love they have found. But just because they are comfortable together, don’t dare call Sheryl and Don old--maybe a vintage convertible cruising along through life with the top down. They don’t care if it’s rainy or sunny, cause now they’re Mr. and Mrs. Bunney.
