Coaching

I have taught professional writers, fellow poets and students for over 40 years. Whether you are a poet, memoirist, essayist or journalist, I can help you hone your craft, polish your poetry or prose, assemble your manuscript, and submit your work for publication. I can show you how to write query letters, book proposals, sell sheets, news releases  and marketing materials. As your coach, I will support, encourage and empower you every step of the way on your journey as a writer.

“I’m grateful to have worked with Wayne on my poetry collection. He is a master coach with a keen eye for format and ear for the subtleties of meaning in poetry. He recognized the strengths of my poems and also helped me to see where others needed polishing, but he never let me slide with less than my best effort. Thanks Wayne for helping me develop into the poet I can be!”
—Mark Broder, author of God’s Garden

“Wayne is the perfect person to wade into the waters with, He is such a gentle and supportive guide who really holds space well, and safely. Wayne has helped me believe that I have something to say as a writer, and that I can say it well.”
